Y = Eight People to Emulate

1) Rachel Young- She is a senior at the Guilderland High School and is very talented in the arts; singing, dancing, etc. She has done dance and singing since she was younger and has only gotten much better since then. Now she is playing the female lead in the musical, Tracy Turnblad, and we couldn't have asked for better. She is a great friend, actress, dancer, singer, and overall she's a great person. I want to give Ms. Young high praise for working hard and giving it 110% all the time. She's great and I look up to her and stride to have even just a fraction of her talent.

2) Kristi Yamaguchi-
She is an ice skater. Ice skating takes a lot of courage and physical ability. I wish I had Kristi's courage and ability to create a beautiful work of art through skating using only her body, skates, and the cold ice.

3) "Weird" Al Yankovic-
He is an american singer that makes parodies of contemporary radio hits.
"His lyrics depend largely on the satirizing of popular culture including television, movies, food, music, and news stories. Though parodies earned him his fame, Yankovic has recorded a greater number of humorous songs with original tunes." http://www.mysticgames.com/famouspeople/WeirdAlYankovic.htm
I wish I had even a fraction of his musical creativity. The songs are cheesy, instead they sound great!

4) Tyler Yates- He "is a right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball currently playing with the Richmond Braves, Triple A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves." But first he attended the University of Hawaii so he would have a back-up plan if the whole baseball career did not work out. I admire is planning, and realistic views, his drive to chase his dreams, and his great athleticism. http://www.mysticgames.com/famouspeople/TylerYates.htm

5) Yanni- He is a musician that "prefers to call his music "contemporary instrumental." I am impressed by his work and envious of his opportunity to perform in front of a large audience.

6) Burt Young- He is a "talented character actor who has remained consistently busy playing "rough at the edge" type characters, often on the wrong side of the law. Young was known as "Jerry De Louise" before becoming an actor, in New York City, where he received his dramatic arts training under legendary acting coach Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio." I am impressed by his work and envious of his opportunity to perform and create great pieces of work with the use of acting.

7) Henny Youngman- "(Henry Youngman, March 16, 1906 - February 24, 1998) was a comedian and violinist famous for "one-liners", short simple jokes usually delivered rapid-fire. His best known one-liner is "Take my wife—please." I wish I was funny...that is all that needs to be said.

8) Stephen Marvin Young- He "was an American politician of the Democratic Party from Ohio. He was a United States Senator from Ohio from 1958 until 1970. Young received a law degree from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1911." I think it's great that he had such a successful career involved in politics, it is truly impressive. And I am envious of him because I just want to get on with my successful career already.
